What is Andropause?

Andropause is a hormone-related condition that causes low testosterone level. It occurs in males aged 40 years old and above.

Your body changes occur gradually when you reached 40 to 55 years of age. As your body ages, your testosterone levels will drop.  Andropause is the result of low testosterone level in your body.The symptoms cannot be predicted as the production of your sperm and testosterone does not stop suddenly. That is why you do not feel the symptoms. It comes slowly but progressively.

Why is Testosterone important?

Testosterone is a sex hormone. Your sexual functions rely on the amount of testosterone in your body. It is important that you maintain this sex hormone also called male hormone.

Sexual function consists of two components;

  1. Libido – The desire to have sex.
  2. Erection – The ability to have sex.

Testosterone is important in both these two components but is more than a sex hormone. It gives you, your mental edge and agility. It is what makes you feels that you are a man.
